RE: Rejecting your Rejection

Lol... This is a funny letter... but it's good.. I wonder if I can get a job with this letter...

Herbert A. Millington
Chair - Search Committee
412A Clarkson Hall, Whitson University
College Hill, MA 34109

Dear Professor Millington,

Thank you for your letter of March 16. After careful consideration, I regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me an assistant professor position in your department.

This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising field of candidates, it is impossible for me to accept all refusals.

Despite Whitson’s outstanding qualifications and previous experience in rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet my needs at this time. Therefore, I will assume the position of assistant professor in your department this August. I look forward to seeing you then.

Best of luck in rejecting future applicants.

Sincerely,
Chris L. Jensen

Mew and Woof!

I picked up this tendency to go "mew mew" from a long lost friend. It has become a habit that I can't be bothered to change.

Anyway, I've been chatting with Iris quite a bit these days. One of the surprises is that we very often have the same wavelength and good rapport. Almost as if we can read each other's mind sometimes.

Even when it came to not feeling well, we both went down together ("went down together" sounds a bit obscene but tht's really not what I intend to mean).

So one day, I was saying smth to her and I went, "Mew~" and Iris went, "Woof~". Lol. That was funny. A cat and a dog chatting online. Hahah.

On another note, I noticed a lot of funny comments and confusion over my permed hair. The Bangladeshi cleaner asked, "Sister, you muslim? You look like a Malay". I laughed so hard...

Then someone asked, "Is she a Korean?"

Hmm, strange...

Fair Over

So the fair that I've been looking forward to turned out to be great. I think it was because I get to meet half of the ex-colleagues.

So glad, so glad... the place where I first started out and where I learned a lot in a year... seeing all the approving smiles on familiar faces.

2008 is finally ending. The ups and the downs and then ups and downs... and now all the way up, up, up... I feel really blessed.

Shall make it a point to do more good deeds and help around and come 2009, wanna be a better photographer, wanna completely bury the hatchet and to let go of a painful past, to build a better greater body and be a better person in more ways than one. Oh yeah and to learn to listen to others more.

Finally, it's a fair over. Pun intended! ;)

Leaving on a Boeing

Right, leaving to Hong Kong in early February. That'll be my brother and his gf without me. Wonders if he'll buy me anything. Hopefully a AFS lens or even some nice boots or a pair of Le Coq Sportif or Esprit jackets or a denim skirt.

Secretly, wish I can go there to apply from permenant residence status and to check out some unis and also to snap some good pics.

Never mind.

Just wanna tell my brother that I love him very much, pls buy me lotsa goodies... I'll be a good sis.

:D

What's Brewing Now?

Hmm... my office is full of samples... Furnitures, TVs and even a Christmas Tree!
Interesting.

I think one of the best samples came in today, Segafredo coffee machine! My heart is melting with the sharp coffee aroma and its apparition in the air...

*mews mews mews*
That's me purring away like a fat cat.

But I can't drink due to a sore throat. But the fragrance alone is good to melt even the most stressed out souls.

Next Stop...

Wonderful.. Looks like it's not so alone at all this festive season.

20 Dec - Will be working at the Penang Education, Training and Career Expo from 9am to 7pm to promote Hard Rock. Looking forward to the event.

21 Dec - Prolly spring cleaning and some X'mas shopping for friends and colleagues.

23 Dec - Will be chilling out at the Swimming Club. I'm jst looking forward to the food really. Kavern will be back from Bangalore too. Can't wait to see him.

26 Dec - Will be following Kee and Gill for free photography class. Hope will learn lots from it. Hoping to post more nice pics. Was flattered when Carmel said she's a big fan of my photos. *rocketing sky high*

I may not have the eyes in seeing the right person but I hope my angling and vision enable me to continuously see beauty in this world.

p/s: Hi Joe, if you happen to read this and if you're back this year or next, kindly collect your baby pics from me or I'll pass to someone you can collect from. I'm sure it means a lot to you, take it back.

2nd Anniversary

I suddenly recalled, before I celebrate my birthday, I'd be celebrating my second anniversary of singlehood - precisely - this Jan 2nd. Woohoo..

Happy for the way things are. Can't help hating the occasional reminiscence of old days.

Still remember he'd always come back days before Christmas and I'd get lotsa chocolate every year. I had been a happy girl this time of the year because I knew I'd see him.

So last week, I found myelf stepping into Tower Records. I was staring at the Japanese music chart... and a familiar voice said, "I don't listen to J-Rock anymore". Then next I know, there's this sad Mr. Children song playing in my mind.

I don't listen too.. but why do I remember the melancholic melody so well?

Lol. Felt guilty for stepping into Tower Records. Better mark it as a forbidden zone.

Never mind that, as much as I'm concerned, I'm doing better every day. Have faith that all these will be better in time to come.

I've already witnessed significant change in these four months. I want more, more and more! Lol.
